J.M. DeMatteis is an American comic book and television writer. He started his career in the late 70s, working for DC Comics in titles like Weird War Tales and House of Mystery. Eventually, he started working on many other titles and he was noticed by Marvel Comics in the early 80s and ever since, he has worked for both companies on various projects. DeMatteis has also worked as a television writer on series such as Superboy, Justice League Unlimited, Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Teen Titans Go!. Most recently he has worked on the animated films Batman vs. Robin and its sequel Batman: Bad Blood as well as the Scooby Apocalypse comic book.
