Stranger Things: Kamchatka (Graphic Novel)

Illustrated by Todor Hristov
Look inside
Horror and espionage collide in the most bone-chilling Stranger Things comics collection yet.

When a leading Soviet scientist is abducted to work on a top-secret project, he comes face-to-face with the Kremlin’s new ultimate weapon—a Demogorgon!

What his top-secret captors didn’t count on was the resiliency of the doctor’s children. While their father has been dragooned into weaponizing a monster brought back from the US, the two young teenagers are forced to embark on a harrowing and perilous journey to find him, with help from an unlikely ally: an old but extremely deadly retired KGB agent.

Things are getting Stranger in Russia and all four of these characters will need to battle impossible odds in order to survive. If they survive.

This terrifying collection, written by hit author Michael Moreci (The Plot, Barbaric) and featuring gritty art from Todor Hristov (Stranger Things: Halloween Special), combines the science-fiction creatures of The Upside Down with spine-tingling Cold War intrigue and espionage as a new thread in the tapestry of Stranger Things.

Collects Stranger Things: Kamchatka issues #1-4.

Michael Moreci is a bestselling comics author and novelist. In the horror genre, he’s the author of three critically-acclaimed original series: Curse, Burning Fields, and, most recently, The Plot, which was one of the best-selling comics of 2019 and has landed on countless “best of the year” lists. He’s also collaborated with superstar screenwriter Gary Dauberman (IT, Annabelle Comes Home) to create Mall, a dystopian horror comic series, and written for Stranger Things, Vampironica, Stranger Things, and Hack/Slash. In 2020, Moreci sold his first screenplays, a horror script that’s currently in development. Additionally, Moreci pens numerous established properties. Most notably, Moreci has served as the head writer for Star Wars Adventures, the comic series aimed at younger audiences. He’s written multiple storylines for the series including The Clone Wars: Battle Tales, which ties into the animated series. No stranger to Star Wars, Moreci has also written a series of novels inspired by the galaxy far, far away: Black Star Renegades and its sequel, We Are Mayhem, both from St. Martin’s Press. Black Star Renegades was nominated for an Audie Award and called one of the best sci-fi novels of the year by Verge and other publications, and in 2019, We Are Mayhem was nominated for a Chicago Review of Books (CHIRBY) Award for best novel of the year. Moreci’s other works include Wasted Space (which Panel Patter dubbed “one of the best comics of this century”), The Lost Carnival: A Dick Grayson Story (a YA graphic novel from DC), Hexagon (a middle grade adventure series that, to date, has accumulated over 11K subscribers and over 100K reads), graphic novel adaptations of Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl series, Archangel 8, Roche Limit (which i09 called “one of the 50 best sci-fi comics of all-time), and Hoax Hunters.

He lives in Chicago with his wife, two children, and their dog.
