Logan: Black, White & Blood Treasury Edition

Saladin Ahmed is an acclaimed novelist and poet who is fast gaining a reputation as one of the comics industry’s brightest talents. His 2012 book Throne of the Crescent Moon, the first volume in a trilogy, was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Novel and won the Locus Award for Best First Novel. The critical praise continued for his Marvel Comics debut on Black Bolt with artist Christian Ward, which won the 2018 Eisner Award for Best New Series. Ahmed followed that project with Exiles, then went on to chart the adventures of two of Marvel’s brightest young heroes in Miles Morales: Spider-Man and Magnificent Ms. Marvel.

Writer/artist Larry Hama got his start as a penciler before becoming a respected editor and later a writer during the ’80s with his career-defining work on G.I. Joe and a memorable run on Wolverine. Through the years, Hama proved his versatility writing Avengers, Blaze, Elektra, Generation X, The Punisher: War Zone and multiple Venom miniseries. When Devil’s Due, IDW and Image Comics in turn obtained the G.I. Joe license, Hama revisited his iconic Marvel run, continuing where he had left off years earlier and bringing the series to — and past — a record-breaking three hundred issues. At Continuity Comics, he created Bucky O’Hare, launching a franchise that extended to animation, video games and a toy line. Hama recently revisited his era helming the adventures of Logan with the Wolverine: Patch limited series. 

Acclaimed author and screenwriter Benjamin Percy broke into comics in 2014 with a two-issue Batman story arc in Detective Comics. He is also known for his work on Nightwing, Green Arrow and Teen Titans for DC Comics, and James Bond: Black Box for Dynamite Entertainment. Percy wrote two seasons of Marvel’s Wolverine podcast series: Wolverine: The Long Night, which was listed as one of the top fifteen podcasts of the year by Apple and won the iHeart Radio Award for best scripted podcast in 2018, and Wolverine: The Lost Trail. In print, he was a key contributor to the X-Men’s Krakoan Era as writer of X-Force and Wolverine. Percy blazed a new trail for the Spirit of Vengeance with his deliciously dark revival of Ghost Rider and pitted some of Marvel’s greatest heroes against the iconic movie hunters, the Predators. After the mash-up concept Hellverine proved a smash hit in Percy’s Wolverine/Ghost Rider: Weapons of Vengeance crossover, the writer launched a Hellverine limited series followed by an ongoing series — with Wolverine’s son, Akihiro, assuming the mantle. And Percy was the ideal choice to unite the ultimate odd couple in the pages of Deadpool/Wolverine.

Frank Tieri entered the early part of the new century as writer on diverse titles such as Wolverine, Iron Man and Weapon X. His Hercules limited series cast the Avenger as a reality-TV star reliving his twelve trials, continuing the lighthearted legacy of Olympus’ favorite son. Tieri’s Underworld and Civil War: War Crimes explored the effects of the heroes’ registration fight on Marvel’s criminal element. World War Hulk: Gamma Corps followed the next generation of gamma-irradiated superhumans as they sought to kill the Hulk. And Dark Reign: Lethal Legion charted the crash-and-burn exploits of an ad hoc team of bad guys as they vainly sought to topple Norman Osborn from power. Tieri, whose Marvel credits also includes New Excalibur, explored Weirdworld in the pages of Black Knight.

A former Disney animator who worked on films including The Lion King and Pocahontas, artist Phil Noto started in comics with DC’s Birds of Prey and Jonah Hex, and DC/Wildstorm’s Danger Girl. For Marvel, he has worked on titles ranging from Black Widow to Uncanny X-Force, and he explored the Star Wars galaxy with Chewbacca and Poe Dameron. Also an accomplished painter, Noto has been exhibited in solo shows in New York, Los Angeles and Paris.

Karla Pacheco is a general vagabond and former radio deejay turned comedy writer and comics creator. She's written for Dynamite Entertainment, Oni (Rick & Morty) and Marvel (Gwenpool, Fearless, Punisher Annual, Fantastic Four 2099, Spider-Woman). Pacheco lives in the Pacific Northwest on a boat named "The Slippery Pig" with her dog Edison, and won the Exxon Valdez from the movie Waterworld by fighting in the Thunderdome. Yes, really.

The son of industry pioneer Joe Kubert, Adam Kubert has won numerous comics-industry achievement awards — including an Eisner Award and a Wizard magazine award. His landmark runs on Wolverine and Incredible Hulk made him a superstar, leading him to work on X-Men titles including the Marvel Universe-changing Onslaught saga. His subsequent efforts for Marvel include revisiting the world of Logan on Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine and the blockbuster sequel Origin II. Kubert joined the stellar artistic lineup of the event series Avengers vs. X-Men, and his subsequent work includes All-New, All-Different Avengers; Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man; and Captain America. In 2020, he made a triumphant return to his signature character for the Dawn of X relaunch of Wolverine.

Artist Robert Gill brought his talents to Totally Awesome Hulk during the acclaimed “Weapons of Mutant Destruction” crossover, and then joined writer Sina Grace on the Iceman solo series. His other Marvel credits include Atlantis Attacks, Old Man Quill and an extensive collaboration with Benjamin Percy on X-Force.

Raffaele “Raff” Ienco was the writer and artist on Image Comics’ Epic Kill and the original graphic novel Devoid of Life, as well as Top Cow’s Manifestations. For Marvel, he has illustrated Fantastic Four and What If? Age of Ultron.

Spanish artist Pere Pérez has worked for Moonstone Books (Twilight Crusade: Templar), Devil’s Due (Dragonlance Chronicles), Dynamite Entertainment (Savage Tales), Valiant Entertainment (Archer & Armstrong, Faith) and DC Comics (Action Comics, Batgirl). For Marvel, Pérez has illustrated Deadpool vs. Punisher, Rogue & Gambit and War of the Realms: X-Men. He joined writer Karla Pacheco on a lengthy, well-received Spider-Woman run.

Jan Bazaldua brought her hyperkinetic art style to Spider-Man for a star-marking run with writer Brian Michael Bendis as the young Miles Morales took on the all-new Sinister Six. She burnished her reputation on titles including Mr and Mrs X and Loki, and her fast-growing list of Marvel credits now includes X-Force, Winter Guard and a trip to the far-off galaxy of Star Wars.
