Two exes reconnect after a family tragedy, but new secrets threaten their freshly rekindled passion in this heartfelt contemporary romance from the author of Getting His Game Back.

Darius Clemons knows his way around a barber chair. He’s successfully franchised his barbershop, The Fade, with his best friend and still manages to get in a cut or two. He hasn’t gotten a handle on romance, having fumbled his chance with Lisa Baker three years ago, but this might be his year to try again.

Lisa wants nothing more than to solve everyone’s problems. Of course she does—she’s a high school guidance counselor. She helps her struggling students, her very pregnant best friend, and her eccentric uncle who asks her to join his lottery club. So when Darius’s father starts showing signs of dementia, she jumps to help her close friend and former flame.

As the two lean on each other during hard times, old feelings resurface. Darius’s struggles at home seem manageable with Lisa’s caring support, and thanks to Darius’s comforting presence, Lisa begins to realize how much she needed someone to care for her for once.

Then the impossible happens. Uncle Robert actually wins the lottery, and since Lisa is a member of his club, so has she. The club’s first rule? Absolute secrecy.

But secrets have a way of coming out, and this one could change everything.
