Lobsang P. Lhalungpa (1926-2008) was referred to as a “patriot and scholar” by the Dalai Lama. Lhalungpa translated extensively over the 40 years preceding his death. He is best known for his translation of the classic Buddhist biography The Life of Milarepa.
Lhalungpa was a pioneer in establishing the first Tibetan language program of All India Radio and for his dedicated service to the preservation and promotion of Tibet’s spiritual and cultural tradition.
