Anika Fajardo was born in Colombia and raised in Minnesota. She is the award-winning author of books for adults and children, including The Many Mothers of Dolores Moore, Meet Me Halfway, and Encanto: A Tale of Three Sisters. She lives in Minneapolis with her family.
