Mónica Mancillas

Mónica Mancillas grew up speaking English, Spanish, and her own version of Spanglish, where words like “socks” and “calcetines” accidentally became “socketines." Her early love of words led her first to the University of California at Berkeley, and then to the pursuit of a career telling stories as a singer/songwriter and recording artist. She now lives in Burbank, California with her husband and daughter, where she authors books featuring marginalized voices for children of all ages.
