Colors and patterns of the grannies vary by the season, with bright yellows and blues representing summer, and autumnal colors of brown, orange, and mustard following after. Intermixed within each season are projects for different skill sets. Both a written pattern and a crochet chart are included as well as a full-color picture. Each granny is the same size, six by six inches, making it easy for the crocheter to mix and match them to suit the project they have in mind. For those crocheters who need inspiration on how to combine their grannies, four seasonal projects are included: a lightweight blanket for spring, a cheerful bag for summer, a shawl for fall, and a cozy cushion for the cold winter. Scattered throughout are suggestions for which grannies work best together and how to combine them for a larger project. Granny squares are perpetually popular. and granny enthusiasts are always looking for unique takes on the traditional square.
