All the coolest dogs in town meet at the Doggie Dance-off to show off their best dance moves--and they're intrigued by a newcomer who wows the audience with her amazing moves. Who is she?

At the Doggie Dance-off, the coolest dogs around gather to show off their best dance moves, eat snacks, and listen to DJ Patch, who keeps the music going. Eva the golden retriever struts across the dance floor; Doug the pug likes to spin on his back on the floor; and Duke Doggy Doo bounces around like a kangaroo! Then one day, a masked stranger comes in and dances better than anyone has ever seen. Who is she?
Steve Smallman's Doggy Dance-Off (9781664300255, $18.99) is illustrated by Robert Starling, who captures a host of dancing dogs in a celebratory story that contrasts different dance styles and fun. Kids attracted to dance and lively themes of dogs at play will find the dance-off focus and whimsical tales to be attractive. --Midwest Book Review--Children's Bookwatch
Steve Smallman has taken up writing his own stories after illustrating children's books for more than 30 years. He also teaches illustration and mural-painting workshops in schools. When he's not working, Steve enjoys movies, television, gardening, and walking in the countryside.

Robert Starling started doodling characters when he was little, and just kind of kept going, filling paper, sketchbooks and school exercise books along the way. A former teacher, he now enjoys running workshops, talks and writing sessions. When he’s not drawing, he can be found doing daddy duties, trying to bake a cake that doesn’t look like a pancake, or popping the kettle on. He lives in Wiltshire with his wife and children.
