Ka-Boom! The newest addition to the nonfiction Eureka series is a “biography” of fireworks, an invention that marks worldwide celebrations!
From the first gunpowder-filled bamboo stalk thrown on a bonfire to dazzling overhead multicolor displays of today, Fireworks is a fun and informative look at the development of an invention that sparks joy. This STEAM nonfiction title is part of the Eureka! series, each book focusing on one groundbreaking, world-changing discovery that millions of people use every single day.
"Eureka: The Biography of an Idea employs a unique conceptual framework: weaving facts about everyday objects through details on the items’ historical and geographical evolutions...The narrative style of the series is conversational. The books exhibit energetic digital illustrations tied to the material, and explanatory diagrams detail the science of the invention. Unusual words are boldface and defined. Each title concludes with a set of facts about the innovation and a connected activity. This series would be a good fit for young students interested in inventions or assigned to research them." —Booklist
