Toxic 2nd Edition

Heal Your Body from Mold Toxicity, Lyme Disease, Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, and Chronic Environmental Illness

Look inside
Dr. Neil Nathan introduces fresh insights, updated information, and vital medical breakthroughs in this second edition of his bestselling book.

Millions of people are suffering from chronic illnesses that, unbeknownst to them, are the result of exposure to environmental toxins and infectious agents such as mold and Borrelia, which causes Lyme disease. Millions. Because the symptoms of these illnesses are so varied and unusual, many of these individuals have sought medical care only to be dismissed, as if what they are experiencing is “in their head.” Many (if not most) have tried to tough it out and continue to function without hope of improvement. Unfortunately, their illnesses are very real.

The new edition of Toxic offers renewed hope for patients, their loved ones, and the physicians who care for them. Dr. Neil Nathan delves deeper into the harmful impact of chronic inflammation in driving disease and presents the latest information that can help both doctors and patients achieve faster and more complete healing. He has also expanded the chapter on mold toxicity, as it is increasingly recognized as a leading cause of complex illnesses.
Drawing on decades of experience helping thousands of patients regain their health, even when other doctors had lost hope, Dr. Nathan continues to refine his understanding of the common causes of debilitating illnesses, leading to more precise and effective treatments. This updated edition sheds even more light on these complex conditions, offering patients and their families the crucial support they need.
Key updates include:
· The latest testing and treatments in every chapter
· Major medical breakthroughs in the identification and treatment of Lyme disease
· An expanded section on the diagnosis and treatment of mold toxicity
· A dedicated chapter on COVID-19
· A comprehensive chapter on the health effects of electromagnetic fields (EMFs)
· A full chapter on new discoveries related to environmental toxins

Readers will have access to the comprehensive range of topics explored in the original edition, including:
· Information about how extreme sensitivity and toxicity develop in the body, how sensitivity and toxicity differ, and how they often overlap
· Detailed descriptions of each of the five major causes of extreme sensitivity and toxicity: mold, Bartonella (a co-infection of Lyme disease), mast cell activation, porphyria, and carbon monoxide poisoning
· An outline of the cell danger response, a revolutionary model developed by Dr. Robert Naviaux that explains how the body essentially gets "stuck" fighting a threat even after the danger has passed
· A system-by-system plan for "rebooting" the body to break the cycle of illness and allow healing to begin
· Information about coping with stress and embracing an emotional and/or spiritual awakening on the path to wellness
Neil Nathan, MD, has been practicing medicine for forty-seven years. He has been Board Certified in Family Practice and Pain Management and is a Founding Diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and a board member of the International Society for Environmentally Acquired Illness (ISEAI). For many years, he has worked primarily with patients who had not received a diagnosis from conventional medical sources, and especially with patients whose illness has made them unusually sensitive and toxic (hence difficult to treat). This book has grown out of his experience in this field, and it is his hope that it will enable many patients, currently suffering and without a diagnosis, to begin to find their way toward health.

Dr. Nathan has lectured to medical audiences both nationally and internationally. He has written several books, including Healing Is Possible: New Hope for Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Persistent Pain, and Other Chronic Illnesses; On Hope and Healing: For Those Who Have Fallen Through the Medical Cracks; and Mold and Mycotoxins: Current Evaluation and Treatment 2016. He has hosted an internationally syndicated radio program/podcast on VoiceAmerica called The Cutting Edge of Health and Wellness Today. He also is a researcher and has published several papers, the most important being “Metabolic Features of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome” with Dr. Robert Naviaux.

Dr. Nathan’s medical practice is the Redwood Valley Clinic in northern California. He can be contacted through his website, www.neilnathanmd.com.
Tipsheet - Key Selling Points:
Dr Neil Nathan’s first book TOXIC was well received in the functional medicine and Lyme communities.  We anticipate Energetic Diagnosis to perform as well in his market.

Energetic Diagnosis brings a new approach to functional/alternative medicine based upon identifying human energy to further examine, diagnose and treat chronic illnesses and disease that is not easily identified using conventional medical testing.

Dr. Nathan sheds new light on alternative therapies and explains how they can play a role in the management of chronic illness, such as A.R.T. (autonomic response testing), Kinesiology, and FSM (frequency specific microcurrents).  Dr. Nathan has studied and used these practices and found promising results as part of a holistic treatment plan for certain patients who do not respond to first line treatment plans.

Dr. Nathan’s book takes a deep dive into the very essence of human energy and teaches the reader how to use both internal and external forces (lucid dreams, nature and native practices) to achieve total wellness – mind, body and spirit.

Dr. Nathan is a highly respected physician in the functional medicine community.  He has a wide array of supporters and patients who help to promote his book.  He frequently speaks at conferences and will promote his new book in conjunction with Toxic.  Victory Belt will continue to pitch Dr Nathan to magazines and podcasts that fall within this alternative/functional medicine scope.
