The Complete ElfQuest Volume 8: FutureQuest

Illustrated by Wendy Pini
In the distant future, humans have come to know the truth—they were not alone on their world. Now, one compelling mystery remains—why did the ElfQuest elves disappear and where did they go?

Cutter’s quest is complete, but now stargazer Skywise and his daughter Jink set out on separate quests of their own to recover something precious that has been lost—or stolen. Their journeys span both space and time, bridging the past and the future of the World of Two Moons, now known as Abode.

Meanwhile the planet’s human inhabitants have entered their own technological age and have come to face the truth: they were never alone on their world. One perplexing mystery remains unsolved—why did the elves of Abode disappear, and where did they go? Jink makes the answer her personal quest, even as she crosses paths with a rowdy group of space-faring misfits, the Rebels, on their own search for answers.

““Elfquest” is undeniably a classic series with tonnes of plot history to dig up and reference, and that is evident in “Stargazer’s Hunt”. The Pini’s do a good job of introducing the fantastical world and characters that inhabit it, and Strait evokes the classic, brush-heavy art style really nicely.”—Multiversity Comics

“ElfQuest is one of comics' earliest self-publishing success stories ... one of the most beautifully crafted, well thought out comic book fantasy epics of all-time. The story is sweeping in scope, combining many eras and events in the world of Two Moons. (It is) the most daring fantasy epic being published ... with relatable but fantastic characters guiding readers through a complex world. The Pinis' art and prose are sublime and beautiful to behold, showing that comics can be a place where fantasy can be taken to the next level of artistry.”—Comic Book Resources
Wendy Pini was born Wendy Fletcher in San Francisco. Growing up on an isolated ranch in Gilroy, California, Wendy's imagination was fueled by all forms of fantasy and mythology. At an early age she began spinning her own tales of elves, monkey-gods, aliens, and sorcerers. While her artistic talents were influenced by turn-of-the-century illustrators, film, and TV animation, her storytelling abilities evolved from a love of Shakespeare, Japanese history and legend, modern fantasy, and the epic poetry of the Ramayana. In 1977, a deeply personal project called ElfQuest was born. As the first continuing fantasy/adventure graphic novel series in America to be cocreated, written, and illustrated by a woman, ElfQuest became a phenomenon in the comics industry. Appealing to comics and sci-fi/fantasy fans alike, it attracted a unique and unprecedented audience, an equal mix of male and female readers. More than three million copies of the collected graphic novel volumes have been sold to date. View titles by Wendy Pini
