The shortlist for the 2018 Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction were announced on October, 25th. The titles shortlisted for fiction are Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan (Scribner), Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders (Random House), and Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward (Scribner). The titles shortlisted for nonfiction are You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me by Sherman Alexie (Little, Brown), The Doomsday Machine by Daniel Ellsberg (Bloomsbury), and Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann (Doubleday).
The two winning titles will be revealed at the RUSA Book and Media Awards event, sponsored by NoveList, at the ALA Midwinter Meeting in Denver on Sunday, February 11, 2018.
