Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is an upcoming film based on the memoir The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan by Kim Barker.
Kim Barker (Tina Fey) is not your typical, impassive foreign correspondent—she is candid, self-deprecating, laugh-out-loud funny. At first an awkward newbie in Afghanistan, she grows into a wisecracking, seasoned reporter with grave concerns about our ability to win hearts and minds in the region. While working as a war correspondent in Afghanistan and Pakistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, Barker develops a crazy relationship with a fellow journalist from Scotland (Martin Freeman).
The film also stars Margot Robbie, Christopher Abbott, Billy Bob Thornton, Alfred Molina, Nicholas Braun, Sheila Vand. It will be released to theaters nationwide on March 4th.
