Terry Brooks’ world of Shannara just got a lot bigger.
With the trailer released at this year’s Comic-Con, fans can now look forward to MTV’s The Shannara Chronicles, premiering in January 2016. The series will be based on Brooks’ second novel of the bestselling Shannara trilogy, The Elfstones of Shannara.
In the world of Four Lands, Elven teens embark on a quest to save their world from hordes of demons. A magic Elvish tree, known as Ellcrys, is dying and the Elves must find the tree to protect their world, while battling demons and unlocking magic that the Elves haven’t used in thousands of years.
The series stars Manu Bennett, Ivana Baquero, Austin Butler, and John Rhys-Davies, with Jon Favreau, Al Gough, Miles Miller, and Terry Brooks himself working behind the scenes. January 2016 cannot come sooner!
