Director Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner) has signed on to bring the movie adaptation of Andy Weir’s science fiction thriller The Martian to the silver screen next year.
A talented group of actors are set to star in the film, including Matt Damon, Mackenzie Davis, Jeff Daniels, Kristen Wiig, and Jessica Chastain.
The Martian follows the story of astronaut Mark Watney (Damon), who is stranded alone on the Red Planet. His crewmates assume he was killed during a dust storm, and Watney must find a way to survive.
The Martian is scheduled for release on November 25, 2015.
