Naomi Watts plays Diana, and from the trailer and buzz surrounding the film it looks like she delivers a powerful and touching performance. Naveen Andrews is cast as Dr. Hasnat Khan, the Pakistani heart surgeon, Diana had a secret love affair with before her tragic and mysterious death in Paris. The film is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and the screenplay is by Stephen Jeffreys. Diana will be in theaters state-side on November 1. The film has caused much controversy in England.
The Diana Chronicles is considered to be one of the best bios written about Diana by Brown who was editor of both Vanity Fair and The New Yorker and is a journalist who has long studied the celebrity and personal friendships among the royal family.
