The five Finalists in each category will be announced on October 16.
Preceding the announcement of the winners at the NBA November 20 dinner ceremony, E.L. Doctorow will receive the Foundation’s 2013 Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, and Dr. Maya Angelou will be honored with the 2013 Literarian Award for Outstanding Service to the American Literary Community. Both are lifetime Random House imprint authors.
