I would have loved to gone to Hogwarts and spent hours in their library. It was so magical. Filled to the brim with hundreds of ancient beautifully-bound books. In this scene Hermione and Harry discuss going to the highly anticipated Christmas party in the Hogwarts library in the film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Hermione tells Harry “you can’t just take anyone” and then points out a cute co-ed in the library is making eyes at Harry. She says “she’s only interested in you because she thinks you’re The Chosen One.” Harry replies “But I am The Chosen One.” At this moment Hermione takes her book and hits Harry with it making him apologize profusely.
[youtube KYRzpg2ETuo]The prestigious wizard-in-training prep school Hogwarts is, of course, a creation of movie magic at its best. Although the film was shot all over Britain and Scotland many of the places in the film are actual places on the Oxford campus. This includes the Oxford’s Duke Humfrey’s Library.
The music from the library scene in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is amazingly eerie. During this scene Harry goes into the restricted section of the stacks with the aid of his Invisibility cloak. He is on a mission to find out information on Nicholas Flamel. He ends up opening up “a screaming book,” oh my, and later evades said Filch by hiding in another part of the library. Hermione reads about the Sorcerer’s Stone on a trip to the library too.
