“…A something in a summer’s noon —
A depth — an Azure — a perfume —
Transcending ecstasy…” Emily Dickinson
There is just something about summer, and that great beach read, or that classic that you have wanted to reacquaint yourself with. One of the many reasons, other than BBQ’s, long beach days and ice cream cones that summer is my favorite of the seasons.
Even though technically we still have a month left, we all know that once Labor Day hits we all come to terms with the fact that we are packing away our bathing suits, and getting our “school clothes” ready, even if might just be mentally. Always a bittersweet time of year for me as we do get spoiled here on the east coast with our nice sunny beaches and well here at Random House we are quite spoiled with our “Summer Fridays!”
But we can’t just let summer get by us, without first remembering the quality time we have spent with a few of our favorite summer titles! Here’s a quick sampling of some of the books I read over the summer…
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
