Knowing about the book and what an incredible story it is, it came as no surprise to me when it was announced today that Wes Moore, the dashing, charismatic, and intelligent author of “The Other Wes Moore,” would be appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show and on CBS Sunday Morning.
Here is the editorial description for the book:
Two kids with the same name were born blocks apart in the same decaying city within a year of each other. One grew up to be a Rhodes Scholar, decorated combat veteran, White House Fellow, and business leader. The other is serving a life sentence in prison. Here is the story of two boys and the journey of a generation.
Don’t be surprised if these appearances result in even more publicity for this great story. This one might just take off.

Wes was an unbelievably great Regimental Commander at Valley Forge Military Academy. His impact was felt by each subsequent corps. He will undoubtedly prove to be one of the greatest leaders of our generation. I am proud to know him and to have been under his command. I wish him all the best and look forward to reading the book.

I believe Wes also has a full website devoted to the book and his blog with brief mention of Oprah at TheOtherWesMoore.com
Wes is a remarkable human being. As he shares the story of two fates – he does so in a remarkable way that resonates with so many who have similar stories. The difference is that Wes helps those with similar stories to transcend their experiences by taking action in their communities to ensure that others do not follow their same path. This book is not just a story of triumph and tragedy, it is a call to action to lift up those who have lost hope and need a champion to regain their direction.
Wes is a go-getter. He has a drive that inspires those around him to pursue their dreams and bust out of their self-imposed limitations!
